Lancia and Vespa featured marques at Auto Italia 2006

"The 1938 Lancia Astura just sums up Auto Italia" said Jon Pike, President of the Italian Cars Association the body behind this event. "The 1938 Series 4 Lancia Astura is elegant and mechanically ahead of its time. It was widely adopted as the official government transport for high dignitaries of the Mussolini regime and it is the type of open car that Mussolini liked to use on parades." [see attached photo]

The original owner of this Lancia Astura was the Italian Consul in London. It is the only one in Australia with a Farina coach built body and it has been immaculately restored. It is an eight cylinder cabriolet

"Lancia is the featured marque in 2006 at Auto Italia as Lancia is having its centenary this year" stated the President of Auto Italia 2006, Jon Pike," also featured is the Vespa scooter which turns 60 this year."

This 1938 Lancia Astura and many other Lancias and other cars plus Italian motorcycles and scooters will be exhibited at Auto Italia on Sunday March 26 between 10am - 3pm.
