The Fiat Grande Punto will be on display at the Brisbane International Motor Show in March (3-12 March 2006), heralding the return of Fiat cars to Australia later this year and providing yet another cutting-edge small car from the Italian car maker that has produced legends such as the Topolino and the Fiat 500. "This will be Queensland's first chance to see the star of what I am sure will be one of the most exciting launches in 2006," says David Stone, General Manager for Fiat cars in Australia. "The past 12 months have seen a major shift in the Australian car market towards small cars and not just small cars, but sophisticated small cars that offer all the style and performance of the larger cars that many people are abandoning. With the Grande Punto coming from a company that has a unique heritage in producing the best small cars in the world and from a country that is renowned for performance, style and passion, there could be no better time to launch the Grande Punto in Australia!" ItalianCar had hoped to get the new Punto along to the Auto Italia show in Canberra at the end of March but unfortunately both cars will be in the homologation process to allow them to be driven on Australian roads by the time of the model launch.
